About Place
2007 Joint Meeting of
Minnesota Association of Museums and Minnesota Historical Society Local History Services
8:30 to 4:30 pm
April 27, 2007 St. Peter, MN
“Place” is about our location, our environs, our community. Every museum and historical organization has an interdependent relationship with its place. Relationship to place is expressed through community partnerships, fundraising, buildings, collections, ecology, tourism, publicity, education and programs.
In 2007, Minnesota Association of Museums and the Minnesota Historical Society’s Historical Services Office are collaborating to present a joint meeting on the topic of place. The meeting will seek to include sessions sharing professional information ranging from practical to idealistic, from inspirational to pragmatic.
We encourage all levels of participation, whether you have lead a successful program for years and would like to share your experience or if you are just starting out and would like to get feedback from your colleagues around the state.
Here are some ideas to get started:
Be a part of this joint meeting by presenting on a panel, moderating a session, or facilitating a workshop.
Complete and return the Call for Proposals form.
If you have an idea but are unsure about presenting at the conference or need help finding panelists, please contact Nina Clark (612-870-3374, or ninac@americanswedishinst.org) to discuss your ideas. A member of the MAM Program Committee can assist you in organizing a session or workshop. Proposals are due to ninac@americanswedishinst.org by November 1, 2006.
